About me
Hi!
I am a down to earth guy who loves to travel and to take photos.
My first trip
My first trip was with my mom to Italy. I was only a few years old so I have no own memories from that particular trip. But later mom told me we went with a propeller plane and the weather was very bad. Under the flight we experienced thunder with violent turbulence. As a consequence of the rough flight I became sick and I probably gave my mom some extra headache when I puked all over the place. I guess I am lucky to have no memories of this early ordeal in my life.

My first photo
I do remember though, when I took my first photo. I was only six years old and mom had just given me an old second hand box camera. My grandmother and I, we were going out for shopping groceries. It was winter and the ground was covered with white snow. Against all odds the camera worked and I managed to take my first black and white photo of my grandmother. Mom didn’t realize what to come after this. She used a Kodak Instamatic which she was very proud of. But I wasn't late to step by step make that camera as mine. Later on I bought myself the smaller Kodak Instamatic, the one using the 110 film. That camera became my companion for many years to come.
Mom couldn't stop me
At 14 years of age I went with a friend on a 300 km camping trip on bicycle. Mom couldn’t stop me and she was really crazy with worry. I was 15 when I attended a three weeks language course trip to South of England. I was one of the youngest participants on the trip. Most of my classmates had used the language course trip as an excuse of getting away from home and drink beer and party in England. Me I didn’t. Instead, I spent the weekends in the bitterly cold winter here in Sweden hiking and camping. I often hiked without tent and other gear, just for the sake of hardship and to test my limits.

My awakening
So far I had only been around in Europe. My first real awakening was in 1988 when I did my first trip to Africa. This new world which I discovered on my 6 months long trip, was so different and exotic from what I had experienced before. I become hooked and continued with my travels around Africa over many years. Now more recently I started to travel around in South East Asia. I document my travels thru the camera lens so this website is by the way my humble attempt to share some good and bad moments.

Change of attitude
Over the years I changed my attitude in life from a materialistic to a more minimalist attitude. To collecting good experiences rather than collecting all kinds of stuff means more to me nowadays. My saying is, ”Travel light thru life” is not only applicable on trips where I don’t want to carry a heavy load, it’s also applicable as a general guideline in life.
