ARCHELON, The Sea Turtle Rescue Centre in Glyfada, Athens

Located by the sea in Glyfada, Archelon's Rescue Centre is a beacon of hope for sea turtles. Established in 1994, it provides crucial care for sick and injured turtles, aiming for their eventual release. During my visit, hearing about individual turtle stories and the challenges they face was incredibly moving. The passion of the staff and volunteers was palpable, inspiring deeper appreciation for marine conservation.
